Traditional uses

• Lusterstone is an architectural coating layered on with w trowel - a plaster with a metallic glow
• Results in beautiful reflective stone like patterns ^[1]

• Like other architectual finishes, was traditionally used as a faux finish on walls, mostly in residential design

Emerging uses / trends

• Lusterstone is 'revolutionary', a relatively new coating manufatured by Faux Effects International
• Creates a stunning variety of high/ low dimensional finsihes, creating designer results
• Used on a wide range od applications including walls, ceilings, furniture

Finish and aesthetic qualities

• Lusterstone combines the properties of plaster with a soft metallic glow
• it appears to be color shifting and is soft and buttery to the touch
• There are at least 42 premixed soft metallic colrs and tinting bases, with endless color possibilities for the designer

Surface forms / shapes

• Lusterson can be applied in as many layers as one wishes - depending on the look desired
• it is applied in thin trowel applications

• Density (weight) per gallon - 8 ibs per gallon
• Solids/ weight - 36.40%
• Solids/ Volume - 43.40%
• Reamins stable under optimum (cool) conditions for 12 - 24 months ^[2]

Manufacturing process and assembly

• Apply 2 coats of Aquabond, Aquaseal or Setcoat as base coat
• Allow base todry for 24 hours
• Appy smooth coat of lustersone with a roller. Let dry for 2 hours
• Sand this lightly with grit paper
• Apply second coat (or more as needed ) with a trowel
• If higher shine is needed, sand it down ^[4]
