Moody Residence
The Moody Residence was completed by Resolution: 4 Architecture. The project required the firm to combine 2 condos into one large, grand living space. By wrapping the programming elements around the core of the unit (the wall where the two units once met)the condo is divided into public and private spaces. In the end, the condo featured 3 bedrooms and a study on the perimeter with the kitchen and the living spaces surrounding the core.

Firm analysis
Resolution: 4 Architecture is a New York based residential architecture and design firm dedicated to bringing awareness to the modern prefabricated movement. Founded in 1990 by Joseph Tanney, and Robert Luntz, these architects have become synonymous with the term modern modular; they’re interpretation of the prefabricated movement. The design team uses `within the box’ thinking to alter existing prefab modules like Lego’s. They manipulate the modules to create innumerable combinations of custom housing options. This method of decomposing and then recomposing forms with a modern, sustainable and flexible approach are at the core of all the work that the firm does.
Detail analysis
The modern modular style is visible in the maple veneered, built in cabinetry and the custom elements that envelope the core of the renovated condo. In particular, the chair is a custom seating object that blends seamlessly into the core creating a modern, warm and organic projection from the wall. This detail incorporates a plywood frame that shields existing pipes with a maple veneer finish on the bend wood chair that also provides hidden storage.
