Panelite is a company founded by architects. They have developed a series of products that provide structurally efficient solutions to building with translucency.
The panel construction is based on a honeycomb composite construction originally developed in the aerospace industry for its high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent resistance to deflection, with the added benefit of light-transmission.

Material properties
Primary structural use
Panelite panels should be structurally supported. They can be used with the following Panelite custom support systems:
- Framing Systems
- Interlocking Systems
- Sliding Systems
- Custom Fabrication and Contract Furniture
Material performance
LAMINATED SERIES At only 1 pound per square foot, they are the lightest weight honeycomb panel in the Panelite line, and their inherent stiffness allows for minimal installation details without the need for traditional structural members. They are ideal for such applications as vertical walls, ceilings, signage, sliding doors, and pivoting doors.
They are compatible with Panelite Framing Systems.
BONDED SERIES
Panels using a UV-stabilized liquid adhesive technology to bond PETG, Polycarbonate, or Acrylic facings to the cell wall of a tubular polycarbonate core to create a directionally transparent, lightweight panel. Offered in a variety of colors, finishes and core options including the innovative random core, the Bonded Series allows for creativity, choice and customization of design.
Applications for the Bonded Series include partitions, sliding panels, suspended ceiling panels, backlit and feature walls.
They are compatible with Panelite Framing Systems.
CAST POLYMER SERIES
The casting process yields a rigid, self structural panel with an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and core-to-facing bond. At only 1.5 lbs per square foot, Panelite Cast Polymer Series panels are ideal for a wide range of interior applications including partitions, sliding or pivoting doors, backlit and feature walls as well as light load bearing applications such as tabletops, countertops, workstation surfaces or other furniture elements.
They can be installed with PFS Panelite Framing System or ITL Interlocking Systems.
CLEARSHADE IGU SERIES
This product is an insulating glass unit developed for exterior glazing applications. It uses a UV-stabilized tubular honeycomb core with patented polymer technology that offers superior shading performance.
- Allows for visual privacy with a Visible Light Transmittance of up to 50%
- It achieves a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of 0.18 at midday, approximately 75% lower than that of other insulating glass units without the need for tinted, reflective or specialty glass. (This dramatically reduces climate control requirements and results in significant energy savings over the life of a building.)

Environmental impact
Transparency
- These materials allow daylight to reach into the depth of interior spaces, thereby reducing energy consumption for lighting.
Manufacturing
- All manufacturing uses natural gas energy because it is the cleanest burning fossil fuel.
LAMINATED SERIES
- All adhesives used in production of laminated panels include up to 100% post industrial recycled content.
CAST POLYMER SERIES
- The core is composed of 80% post-industrial recycled material (plastic bottles)
- Almost no energy is used during the production process of the panels. It relies on a room-temperature curing system taht does not produce air or water pollution, or solid waste.
MICA LAMINATE SERIES
- The main component in this product line is a natural, non-hazardous and biodegradable mineral product.
- The remainder in the Silver product is a non-toxic resin
- The remainder in the Amber product is shellac - an organic binder that is FDA approved for food consumption environments
CLEARSHADE IGU SERIES
- Reduces solar heat gain by up to 4x over traditional Insulating Glass Units
