Finish and aesthetic qualities
- Aesthetic qualities are dull and textured like traditional slate. Finished can be raw or sealed with a water based finish in gloss or satin.
Surface forms / shapes
- Slate-ish paper tile comes in cubes of various thicknesses, flush squares, or strips of various thicknesses. The tiles can be cut with standard wood tools.

Primary structural use
- Used as an applied surface only.
Material performance
- Slate-ish tile is stronger than traditional slate tile and can be used in both vertical and horizontal applications. Grout is recommended for wet applications. Slate-ish tile is not recommended for showers.
- Slate-ish tile is light, durable, and non-porous.
Dimensional and opening restriction
- Cubes are 1 ¼” square; range in thickness from 1/8” to ¾”; mounted on ¼” backer; come in 6” by 24” panels
- Squares come in 2”x2” or 4”x4”; range in thickness from 3.32” to 7/32”
- Strips come in condensed, medium and bold width styles; range in length from 1” to 24”; pre-mounted in 6”x24” panels

Manufacturing process and assembly
- Slate-ish papert tiles are made from scrap from countertop fabricators.
- Cubes are pre-mounted for easy installation
- Squares uses standard tile mastics or mortars, they are not pre-mounted
- Strips are pre-mounted and these panels are screwed or nailed to wall.

Environmental impact
- Slate-ish paper tiles are made from post-industrial FSC certified paper which comes from countertop fabricators such as, Richlite and Paperstone, as scrap material.
